2025 UTME COMMENCES ON APRIL 24TH; CANDIDATES CAN NOW PRINT THEIR NOTIFICATION SLIPS The 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is now set to commence on Thursday, April 24, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled date of Friday, April 25, 2025. This adjustment has been made to accommodate essential commitments by the Board and its partner agencies. In preparation for the examination, prospective candidates can now print their Notification Slips, which contain vital information regarding their exam details. What’s Included in the Notification Slip: Candidates are encouraged to print their Notification Slips starting today, Saturday, April 19, 2025. This will provide ample time for logistical arrangements to access their assigned centers within the chosen examination towns. How to Print Your Notification Slip: It is strongly advised that candidates print their slips and familiarize themselves with their examination centers at least one or two days before the examination date. This preparation will help ensure a smooth experience on exam day. Examination Schedule:To reiterate, the 2025 UTME will begin on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Candidates are advised to print their Examination Notification Slips at least a day before the exam to confirm their examination dates and locations, making it easier to access their centres on the day of the examination. Please note that candidates will be assigned to centres within their chosen examination towns; no candidate will be placed in a centre outside their selected town. WAEC REVOKES LICENCES OF 574 SCHOOLS OVER EXAM MALPRACTICES The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Nigeria, has revoked the licences of 574 schools found guilty of examination malpractice. Speaking during a press briefing on Thursday at WAEC’s national headquarters in Lagos, the head of the national office, Dr Amos Dangut, said the list of affected schools has been submitted to the federal government. “This year, we have shared with them a total of 574 schools whose recognition has been withdrawn. This measure will also be adopted by all examining bodies.These schools are no longer recognised as examination centres by WAEC, and we will not conduct exams there,” he said. Ahead of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), scheduled from Thursday, April 24 to Friday, June 20, 2025, Dr Dangut revealed that 1,973,253 candidates from 23,554 schools have registered for the examination. He said of this number, 979,228 are males, while 994,025 are females, an increase of 158,627 candidates compared to last year. Dr Dangut highlighted WAEC’s commitment to leveraging technology, introducing the first-ever Computer-Based WASSCE (CB-WASSCE) for school candidates.
