The Versatile King, Tom Hardy clocks 48

Native to Hammersmith, London, the venomous title character, Eddie Brock and sigma Alphie Solomons was born today, 15th of September, 1977. Having studied and mastered the art of acting in the Drama Centre London, Tom Hardy made his first appearance in Ridley Scott’s “Black Hawk Down” in 2001. With an uncanny ability to forget himself in the heart of every role he takes on, Hardy has succeeded in carving himself a career out of a unique style of acting that almost seems effortless. I mean, how do you explain the transition from the emotional resolve he played in “Locke” to the raw violence that governed his character in movies like “Black Hawk Down” and “Havoc”. Doesn’t it bother you how man of tender terror as Alphie Solomons in “The Peaky Blinders” doubled as a Warrior of menacing realism in “The Dark Knight rises” and becomes the subject of terror in “Venom” Of course, nothing could have prepared nobody for him as Max Rockatansky in Mad Max: Fury Road then watch him bag a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in “The Revenant”.This is however not farfetched at all as he once admitted to the fact that his own characters frighten him too. With a rare gift to make his audience glue, hang and commit to his every word, action, and even silence, there’s really no better word to describe Tom Hardy’s screen presence than “magnetic”. Off-screen, Hardy’s dedication to charity work, particularly his support for veterans and children’s causes, reminds us that he’s more than just a performer, but also a man with a penchant to make meaningful difference. Today, fans worldwide are raising a toast to a man who refuses to be predictable, whose career is a masterclass in versatility. At 48, Tom Hardy shows no signs of slowing down, and we can only anticipate more unforgettable performances in the years to come.

He’s gone, but his voice remains – Two years without Mohbad

We’re remembering Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba popularly known as “Mohbad” today, on the second anniversary of his passing. He was a morning grace the before the untimely clouds of death deprived the Nigerian music scene of him. Now leaving behind not only his soul-stirring songs, but also many unanswered questions. On September 12, 2023, Mohbad died under very fishy circumstances that immediately raised concern, grief, and uproar from his fans and the society at large. Though, investigations have gone a great length, including exhumation, autopsy and coroner’s inquest, two after, the mysteries behind his sudden demise remain uncovered. Key Concerns and Developments The main object of concern remains that the cause of death still remains officially inconclusive. While medical reports suggest that possible drug reaction or fatal anaphylactic shock may be responsible, the level of decomposition of the body has made it difficult to come to definite conclusions. Legal and procedural bureaucracies: Although an auxiliary nurse was identified as a “prime suspect”, formal charges and accountability metrics are still stalling for not very obvious reasons. Paternity questions and controversies: Mohbad’s death led to a series of uncanny speculations and famiky tensions, one of which is the dire doubt about the paternity of his purported son, Liam. This area remains dark and unsolved as his baby mama, Omowunmi Aloba refuses to consent to a DNA test. Call to Action As we mark this painful anniversary, we hope to see the fog cleared on the following: 1. Full transparency in the investigation process—from forensic reports, autopsy results, to court proceedings. 2. Speed and integrity from the legal quarters concerned. 3. Prompt resolution of family tensions ensuing from paternity doubts, and; 4. Unhinged support for Mohbad’s legacy, he was too good of a talent to have his legacy swept under the carpet of death. We hope that his contributions to music and culture be duly honoured Today, we remember not just the artist, but the young soul who dared to aspire and weave truth into melodies that touched souls. Just as his name implies “Imole”, we pray that his light continues to shine, and that his death be not in vain. @Alaro Basit

Big Match Day Fixture

The Manchester derby, dating back to 1881, is a fierce rivalry between United, the working-class club, and City, revitalized since their 2008 takeover. United dominated under Ferguson, with moments like the 5-0 win in 1994, while City’s 6-1 thrashing of United in 2011 marked their rise. United’s global fanbase clashes with City’s local pride, seen in taunts like the “35 Years” banner. Recent derbies, like City’s 2022/23 wins and United’s 2024 FA Cup triumph, keep the rivalry intense. Since 1881, Manchester United lead the Manchester derby with 80 wins to City’s 61 across 196 matches, with 55 draws, reflecting United’s historical dominance. In the last 41 encounters, City have edged ahead with 19 wins to United’s 16 and six draws, driven by their 2008 takeover. United’s supremacy, built under Sir Alex Ferguson, contrasts with City’s recent rise under Pep Guardiola. Iconic moments like City’s 6-1 win in 2011 highlight their newfound strength. The rivalry remains fiercely competitive, with both sides exchanging victories in recent years.
